Brown to Oversee Westby Bull Facility for Select Sires
Wisconsin Ag Connection - 10/20/2017

The bovine genetics facility that Select Sires has taken over when it acquired Accelerated Genetics this year has a new manager. Dr. David Brown will oversee all day-to-day operations of the Roger L. Ripley Production Center.

Brown is a graduate of Iowa State University with degrees in zoology and veterinary medicine. After an 18-year career as a self-employed veterinarian, he joined the Accelerated Genetics team as staff veterinarian in 2008, where he was responsible for the semen export documentation team, semen export qualifications, compliance with USDA/APHIS export regulations.

Since 2015, Brown was vice president of veterinary services and education for Genex in Shawano.

"I'm extremely pleased to be back in Westby, with most of the old team, along with some excellent new additions," Brown said. "Accelerated Genetics joining forces with Select Sires is the best thing that could have happened for the Westby production group. The team is a talented, experienced group with a lot to offer, and I am excited to see the investments being made to the facilities by Select Sires."

Brown is a member of the American Association of Bovine Practitioners, American Veterinary Medical Association and the Wisconsin Veterinary Medical Association.
