ISO27001 Lead Implementer Training fully updated to meet the challenges of the new ISO27001:2013 standard

ELY, UK, November 26, 2013 /EINPresswire.com/ -- IT Governance Ltd, the international cyber security training provider has announced that its flagship ISO27001 Certified ISMS Lead Implementer training course has been fully updated to meet the requirements of the new ISO27001:2013 standard.

In September 2013, ISO27001:2005 was replaced by the ISO 27001:2013 standard. With significant structural changes including flexible risk assessment and continuous improvement options, the introduction of the new standard requires a new approach to the training of staff involved in ISO27001 implementation projects.

The ISO27001 Certified ISMS Lead Implementer training course has been developed to deliver the essential knowledge and skills to managers responsible for implementing an effective Information Security Management System (ISMS) and achieving certification to the ISO27001:2013 standard.

Alan Calder, Founder and Executive Chairman of IT Governance, explains, “As a global leader in the development and provision of ISO27001 accredited training, we are of course expected to update all of our courses to reflect any release of a new standard. The publication of the ISO27001:2013 standard marks not just an upgrade but a significant change for all organisations working towards new certification, satisfying the requirements of a regular CAV visit or who need to achieve re-certification at the end of a three-year compliance period.”

He continued, “ISO27001:2013 defines a significant difference in the approach to risk assessment both in the definition of risk and that the assessment does not necessarily have to be asset-based. In addition, while the demise of Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) has been much publicised, PDCA is still an acceptable process model although organisations are allowed to use an alternative continual process improvement methodology. Aligned with these significant changes in the new standard, our training development team and consultants have all contributed to the creation of a brand new ISO27001 Certified ISMS Lead Implementer course.”

The ISO27001 Certified ISMS Lead Implementer classroom training course is scheduled to first run in London on the 22nd - 24th January. Delegates who successfully complete this Advanced Level course and exam will be awarded the Certified ISMS Lead Implementer (CIS LI) qualification issued by the International Board for IT Governance Qualifications (IBITGQ). Bookings can be made online at: www.itgovernance.co.uk/shop/p-713.aspx.

This training session is the latest addition to the ISO27001 Learning Pathway which includes the ISO27001 Certified ISMS Foundation, Transition, Internal Auditor, Risk Management and Lead Auditor courses. The course is available in a Classroom format in the UK or as a Live Online version for international delegates.
