Maurizio Sarri wants a reunion with Juventus striker Gonzalo Higuain when he becomes Chelsea boss, reports suggest.

The 59-year-old is reportedly set to enter talks with Chelsea this week.

He will replace Antonio Conte at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea went down 3-0 to Newcastle United on the final game of an underwhelming 2017-18 Premier League season.

Chelsea finished fifth - outside the UEFA Champions League places.

And that is enough for Roman Abramovich to replace Conte with Sarri, according to reports.

Gonzalo Higuain has already been one high profile exit from Napoli

Higuain played for one season under Sarri at Napoli in the 2015-16 campaign, with his 38 goals in all competitions helping the side finish second in Serie A.

He has 16 goals for Juventus this season.

Higuain's move to Stamford Bridge could also pave the way for Alvaro Morata's exit.

Morata could leave Stamford Bridge after one season, with AC Milan and former club Juventus keeping tabs, reports say.

The 25-year-old is said to want to return to Italy after a difficult season and Milan are reported to have approached the Blues over a possible loan with a permanent option.

After a strained season Chelsea are said to be looking for a star finisher, with Bayern Munich’s Robert Lewandowski said to be top of their list.
